I. Employee Certifications

1. Material Manufacturer’s Certifications
   
   Mr. Greg Goodpasture, Alva Roofing’s Operations Manager has attended numerous seminars sponsored by roofing material manufacturers.  Some examples of the certifications received from these seminars are as follows;
   1. BURSI Roofing Seminar sponsored by Johns Manville, January 12-13, 1998.
   2. Torch Applied and Cold Adhesive Applied Roof Systems Training sponsored by SIPLAST, April 2002.
   3. Seal-Dry Single Ply Roofing Systems Technical School
      
      
2. Safety Certifications
   
   
   1. First AID/CPR – All Alva Roofing Foreman (Roofing and Repair) have current First Aid/CPR certification cards issued by the Red Corss
   2. Conoco Phillips Refinery Construction and Maintenance Safety Level III – All Alva Roofing personnel (Foreman and Roofing personnel) performing work in Conoco Phillips Refineries are required to successfully complete a 10 hour safety course and be certified by Pioneer Technology Safety Center.
   3. Xerox Contractor Safety Orientation – All roofing personnel performing work at Xerox facilities must successfully complete a 3 hour safety course and be certified by the Xerox Safety Director.
   4. NRCA/MRCA CERTA Training – Alva Roofing’s Safety Manager successful completed the NRCA/MRCA CERTA Train-the-Trainer program in Rosemont, Illinois on September 13, 2004. Alva Roofing’s Safety Manager has since trained and certified 19 Alva Roofing employees. Only personnel certified in the program are allowed to install torch applied roofing systems for Alva Roofing.
   5. Forklift Training/Certification – Alva Roofing requires all personnel operating a forklift to be trained and certified using training material meeting OSHA requirements.

II. Company Certifications

 

Alva Roofing is certified by most roofing material manufactures to install their roofing systems on new construction roofs and on existing structure re-roofing projects.  These certifications have been obtained through a combination of the following:

1. Participation in roofing seminars hosted by roofing material manufacturers;
2. Roof-top training provided by Technical Representatives from the material manufacturers;
3. Demonstrated capability of our foremen and work crews to install systems that meet manufacturers requirements for 20 year NDL warranties

 

III. Trade/Professional Organizations

 

Alva Roofing is certified by most roofing material manufactures to install their roofing systems on new construction roofs and on existing structure re-roofing projects.  These certifications have been obtained through a combination of the following:

1. Alva Roofing has been an active member of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) for many years. We utilize NRCA training materials extensively for safety training of our employees.
2. We are also active members of the Mid-West Roof Contractors Association;
3. And the Association of General Contractors.
